What it is
The visa for already-qualified professionals
The skilled employment (Fachkräfte) route, governed by §§ 18a-18b of the German Residence Act.
A recognised qualification
A degree or vocational training recognised as equivalent in Germany (Anerkennung).
A job offer
A contract or firm offer from a German employer, in your field.
No age limit
Unlike the Ausbildung, this visa sets no maximum age.

Your employer can launch the beschleunigtes Fachkräfteverfahren with the central immigration authority: recognition and visa are then handled as a priority, cutting timelines significantly.
New in 2024: the Anerkennungspartnerschaft even lets you come and work first, then complete the qualification recognition on the ground.
